Since their success with the UAR which is also a bullpup system they have harnessed their experience and done the right thing by developing another bullpup. Maybe APS is going to be the airsoft manufacturer that will specialize in bullpup designs and bring us more weapons systems in this category.
For now though they are concentrating on the UAR and the AUG, many players know best from games such as COD and BF!
There are 5 different gun models in the ‘KU’ (AUG) series:
KU901 – Civilian Model – Full Metal Rail on the top, available in Black.
KU902 – Military Model – Adjustable Scope on the top, available in OD color.
KU903 – LE Model – Adjustable Scope on the top, available in medium barrel length.
KU904 – Para Model- Adjustable Scope on the top, available in short barrel length.
KU905 – Tactical Model – Full RIS hand guard used, comes with silencer decoration, available in long barrel length.
All the variants share the same gearbox which is a Version 3 with quick change spring system which allows players to adapt their guns to different scenarios without having to disassemble the gearbox. The KU has a open back design like the UAR that makes life easy when it comes to on the fly spring changes.
In addition to that the barrels are also easily interchangeable giving players an option to quickly up the fps of their weapons from 280fps up to 390fps with a choice of three barrel lengths.
APS has not developed a “Hybrid’ Gearbox for this series which some people will probably welcome due to some issues experienced with them in previous models this system is used in.
APS have paid attention and definitely improved upon JG’s quality with features like raised textured areas on the body and the grip to enhance overall ergonomics as well as the quick change gearbox system. The field stripping along with the weight has been kept true to the firearm for realism which isn’t the case with JG’s versions.
Over all this is absolutely a step in the right direction, that many players will welcome as current AUG models all costs quiet a bit of money except the JG version which is also affordable yet still more expensive than APS models.
